Abstract:
To prevent falling of a brick of a brick layer thereby eliminating danger of molten metal leakage.SOLUTION: A molten metal holding vessel 10 comprises a presser brick 16 which is provided inside an opening of a steel shell 12, and presses a brick layer 14 from an upper side. A protrusion 30, which protrudes to a lower side, is formed on an inner peripheral side of an underside of the presser brick 16, and a step part 34, with which the protrusion 30 is engaged, is formed on a top face of the brick layer 14. A joint between the underside of the presser brick 16 which includes the protrusion 30 and the top face of the brick layer 14 which includes the step part 34 includes: a horizontal joint 36A which extends in a radial direction of the brick layer 14 from an inner peripheral surface of the brick layer 14; and a vertical joint 38 which is positioned on an outer peripheral side of the brick layer 14 with respect to the horizontal joint 36A, extends in a height direction of the brick layer 14, and is connected to the horizontal joint 36A; and said joint is bent.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
