To provide a method of reducing or eliminating high resin density regions of flange corner parts of annular gas turbine engine parts.
The method of manufacturing the annular gas turbine engine parts and composite material parts of a gas turbine engine includes a stage for preparing tool (100) having a first surface and a second surface mutually arranged at a certain angle. A fiber segment (302) having an end part terminating in the vicinity of the corner part between the first surface and the second surface is attached to the surface of the first surface. A fiber preform (301) is arranged at the fiber segment (302) and on the second surface. Then, a matrix material is added to at least one of the fiber preforms (301) or the fiber segments (302). The fiber segment (302) and the fiber preform (301) are heated to a temperature enough to be able to swell out the end part of the fiber segment (302). Then, the matrix material is hardened to form a composite material article in which the fiber distribution in the corner part is practically uniform.
