Title:
CORRECTION METHOD FOR SOUND VELOCITY IN UNDERWATER POSITION MEASURING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3401374
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method in which a change in a sound velocity can be corrected precisely without measuring a water temperature and a salt density.
SOLUTION: The initial value of a sound velocity (v) and step-size δ are set (Steps 21, 22). Coordinate values x1, x2, y1, y2 of an object point are computed (Step 23). While the step-size δ is being added to the sound velocity (v) (Step 27) until x1=x2 and y1=y2 (Step 24), Step 23 is repeated. When a magnitude relationship is reversed in a previous coordinate value and a recent coordinate value (Step 25), the step-size δ is reduced, and a previous value is used as the value of the sound velocity (v) (Step 26).
