Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cross rail positioning device capable of sufficiently withstanding a large load even in the case of using an air cylinder device which does not generate the driving force for directly opposing to a load of the cross rail as a driving source.
SOLUTION: The cross rail 3 equipped with a movable blade rest 2 provided with a machining tool 1 is provided freely to move along a guide rail 5 equipped in a column 4. One of the cross rail 3 and the guide rail 5 is provided with a lock part 22, and the other thereof is provided with multiple engagement parts 23, with which the lock part 22 is selectively locked. The lock part 22 and the engagement part 23 are locked with each other to support, while positioning, the cross rail 3 stretched in the guide rail 5. The positioning device with this structure is formed so that a projecting part 22A is turned to be projected by drive of an engagement/removal driving device 24 or energization to be released by the drive thereof and that the projecting part 22A is turned to be removed from the engagement part 23 to allow the movement of the cross rail 3.
