To provide a cutting device which can reduce a risk of excessively abrading or damaging a new cutting blade and which can prevent degradation of processing quality due to deviation from a perfect circle.
A cutting device includes a cutting means 26, an input means 36 to which type information of a cutting blade 30 is input, a processing feeding means which relatively moves a chuck table 18 and the cutting means 26 in a processing feeding direction, an indexing feeding unit which relatively moves the chuck table 18 and the cutting means 26 in an indexing feeding direction, a positioning means which positions the cutting blade 30 at a predetermined height, and a control means which controls the processing feeding unit, the indexing feeding unit and the positioning unit. The control unit has a dressing condition storing unit which stores dressing conditions for each type of the cutting blade 30, and a dressing operation unit which selects a dressing condition corresponding to the input type information of the cutting blade 30 and activates the processing feeding unit, the indexing feeding unit and the positioning unit based on the corresponding dressing condition to implement dressing.
