To prevent a hazard of earth collapse in a trench sidewall by a method wherein a pressure water jet is injected to a lower end to drive piles into the ground, sheet piles, etc., are driven among the piles and a retaining wall is formed, and the inside of the wall is excavated while pumping up spring water by a jet water piping.
Pressure water pipings 12 having nozzles at front ends and consisting of double pipes are juxtaposed along both legs of a pile 3 excavating a trench 2 and being composed of inverted U-shaped H-steel, pressure water is forwarded by pumps 11 from the ground, the ground 1 is loosened, and the shape-steel pile 3 is settled into the ground by its own weight. The shape-steel piles 3 are disposed in upright at regular intervals by the method while sheet piles, etc., are driven among the piles and a retaining wall is installed, and soil and sand on the inside are excavated by a backhoe, etc. When there is underground sump water at that time, operation is conducted wile draining the sump water at the well points of the outer pipes of the pressure water pipings 12. Driving by percussion is unnecessitated at the time of the erection of the shape-steel piles 3, and the shape-steel piles 3 are disposed in upright safely under a no-vibration and no-noise state. Accordingly, the excavation process of the trench can be rationalized and its efficiency improved.
