To suitably separate foreign matter such as oily material and chips in a cutting liquid from the cutting liquid by floating the foreign matter up to the liquid level and making the same adhere to a rotary drum.
A recovery tank 10 for recovering the cutting liquid 200 containing foreign matter composed of oily material 202 and chip 201 is constructed by two tank vessels 11, 12 divided by a partition plate 13. Aeration is performed by an aeration part 40 at the whole base of the first tank vessel 11 where the cutting liquid 200 continuously flows, thereby floating the foreign matter 201, 202 with bubbles 300 generated from the base up to the liquid level of the cutting liquid 200 and making the same adhere to the bubbles 300. The bubbles 300 to which the foreign matter adheres are moved to the second tank vessel 12 over the partition plate 13, and caused to adhere to the circumferential surface of the rotary drum 20 located in the vicinity of the partition plate 13, and scraped and collected by a scraper 30. Thus, foreign matter is separated.
