A cyclohexyl methyl phosphonate derivative represented by general formula (III) is reacted with an aldehyde represented by formula (IV) (wherein R1 is an alkyl group or the like; A is a phenylene group which may be fluorinated; Y is a fluorine atom or the like; and n, o and p are each an integer) under a strongly basic condition to produce an (E)-1,2-bis(cyclohexyl)ethylene derivative.
