To provide a cyclone separator which is equipped with a shroud capable of still maintaining sufficient flowing of air to reduce dirt and dust passing through the shroud.
The cyclone separator 100 has a chamber 112 separating dirt and dust from an air flow, an inlet 110 of the chamber, and the shroud 200. The shroud has a wall 202 having a large number of through holes 208 forming the outlet of the chamber, and each through hole has a width and a height and has a substantially rectangular section with a ratio of the width to the height of 1.5:1 to 1:1.5. The rectangular sections of the through holes maximize the effective through hole area of the shroud. As a result, pressure drop before and after the shroud is reduced, and at the same time, the amount of materials required for manufacturing the shroud is reduced.
