Abstract:

To provide cycloolefin copolymers characterized by racemic diad polycyclic units and triad polycyclic units, methods for producing the same, and selected catalysts which can be used for these methods.

The cycloolefin copolymers can be produced by copolymerizing a polycyclic olefin with a linear olefin in the presence of a metallocene catalyst which has no CS symmetry in relation to the centroid-M-centroid plan.
