Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent deterioration or breakage, which is generated because of repeated relative movement of a faying surface based on a difference in thermal expansion between a head and a block, in a seal material layer so as to prevent inhibition of a sealing property in a cylinder head gasket in which metal plate surface touching the faying surface between the cylinder head and the block in an engine is coated with the seal material layer.
CONSTITUTION: On a metal plate 1 surface touching a faying surface of a cylinder head with a large thermal expansion, a high pressure bearing part 21 around a combustion chamber opening 11, a high pressure bearing part 22 around a fluid passage hole 12, and a high pressure bearing part 24 around a circumference edge seal part 23 and a bolt hole 14 are coated with hard seal material layers, while other comparatively low pressure bearing parts are coated with a soft seal material layer 26 like a conventional one.
