Abstract:

To provide a dam bar cutting apparatus which can suppress cut scrap floating.

The dam bar cutting apparatus includes a die 2 having an opening of a predetermined shape and a punch 4 to be moved vertically, and cuts a dam bar 1 interconnecting external leads of a semiconductor device by shearing force. At the opening of the die 2, an uppermost surface 2a of the opening is made narrower in opening width than a press bottom dead point 5.
