Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent illegal copy of digital data by recording data in a data recording medium so that secret data is not copied in a personal computer or the like as it is.
SOLUTION: A data recording device is provided with a memory 23 in which a plurality of conversion tables modulating main data of 8 bits to main data of 16 bits are stored, a modulation circuit 14 selecting one table out of a plurality of conversion tables stored in the memory 23 and converting main data of 8 bits to main data of 16 bits, and an optical pickup 16 recording main data modulated by the modulation circuit 14 to an optical disk 1, when main data and additional data of this main data are inputted, the modulation circuit 14 selects a conversion table stored in the memory 23 confirming to the additional data, performs modulation processing of the main data, and the additional data cannot be demodulated by a device other than a regular device.
