Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an effective debugging tool which can be used easily and entirely autonomously.
CONSTITUTION: A tool KD for debugging the operation of a system incorporating at least one processor P, a processor-related memory M, and a memory management unit MMU is buried in the zone of the memory M in which a virtual addressing mode is equal to a physical addressing mode. The tool KD always executes each operation in a physical mode regardless of the management unit MMU by using a prescribed method during debugging. The tool KD includes a decoder DEC which supports at least two exception vectors BP and DSI for controlling the initial state of a machine and uses an algorithm which is usable regardless of the states of the stack S of the tool itself and a storing means CMM which stores the context of a process to be analyzed and a decoded context.
