Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent equalizing ability from being rapidly degraded by the increase of a noise component.
CONSTITUTION: A non-equalized signal Sr is outputted as a forward equalized signal Sfe after inter-code interference caused by advance echo is removed by a forward equalizer 12. An adder 14 adds the forward equalized signal Sfe and a backward equalized signal Sbe and generates an equalized signal Se. A discriminator 15 outputs a discriminate signal Sd. The discriminate signal Sd is outputted as the backward equalized signal Sbe after inter-code interference caused by delay echo is removed by a backward equalizer 13. A subtracter 16 outputs an error signal Sf expressing the remaining amount of equalization due to the equalizer by finding the difference between the disriminate signal Sd and the forward equalized signal Sfe. An alarm generator 17 monitors line quality based on the error signal Sf and when it is degraded rather than line quality decided in advance, the alarm generator generates an alarm signal and performs control so that the equalized signal Se can be selected by a selector 18.
