Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a defoaming agent of silicone emulsion-type capable of displaying excellent defoaming effects to a water-based foaming liquid, and a defoaming method using the agent.
CONSTITUTION: This silicone-type emulsion consists of a base agent of 100 pts.wt. of a silicon-type defoaming composition and 3 to 300 pts.wt. of a polyoxyalkalene-modified silicone oil, emulsified in water without compatibility. The base agent accounts for 20wt.% or more to 70wt.% or less as a content percentage. The particle diameter of the emulsion particle changes by adding the silicone-type emulsion to a foaming liquid at 25°C or more of liquid temperature. Thus the rate of this change satisfies the conditions of the following formula (i): formula(i) (b/a) ≥2. (a is the particle diameter of an emulsion particle before being added to a foaming liquid; b is the particle diameter of an emulsion particle immediately after being added to a foaming liquid).
