PURPOSE: To vibrate umbrella cloth, to expedite dehydrating and drying of adhering water droplets, and to enhance dehydrating efficiency of an umbrella by alternately switching between an operation for blowing heating air inside the cloth of the umbrella and an operation for feeding it between a bottom of a funnel-like umbrella receiver and an outside of the bottom of the umbrella.

CONSTITUTION: Valves 33, 31 are interlocked by operating an actuator 34 to close an atmosphere inlet 32 and a branch duct 29. Then, when a sirrocco fan 27 is driven, an interior of an umbrella 20 becomes negative pressure. When a moistened umbrella 11 is inserted, part of an umbrella cloth 12 is brought into close contact with the surface of a water absorption sheet 24 to be water- absorbed. The atmosphere introduced from the inlet 32 is heated by a heater 28 to become hot air, which is supplied between the outside of the cloth 12 of the umbrella 11 and the sheet 24, and drying is advanced while vibrating the cloth to shake off the water droplets. Accordingly, a dehydrating efficiency of the umbrella can be enhanced.
