Title:
DENSITY DETECTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3664206
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To completely remove soiling on the detection surface of a density sensor by using nonwoven fiber impregnated with silicone oil as a cleaning member sliding on the detection surface of the sensor.
SOLUTION: The cleaning member 8 attached to a supporting member 7 is supported to freely rock by a frame 4, and the member 7 is rocked by a driving means in a state where the center of rocking 9 is set as an axis, moved to a position shown by a dotted line 10 and restored to a home position. By such action, the member 8 slides on the detection surface of the density sensor 5, that is, the opposed surface thereof to a photoreceptor drum 1, and removes the soiling on the detection surface. A member where a felt surface layer of fluororesin is formed on base material made of wool is used as the member 8, and desirably used after it is impregnated with the silicone oil. Since the silicone oil is rich in releasing ability and is chemically inactive, the sliding ability of the felt surface layer of the member 8 on the detection surface of the sensor 5 is excellent and there is no possibility that the detection surface of the sensor 5 is damaged. As for the silicone oil, amino dentatured oil is suitable.
