To provide a dental filling and restoring material that has paste-like properties permitting an easy filling operation in an oral cavity while retaining very high aesthetic properties and a low shrinkage factor required to the dental filling and restoring materials.

The dental filling and restoring material includes (A) 100 pts.mass of a polymerizable monomer, (B) 80-1,000 pts.mass of an inorganic filler having an average particle size of 0.03-0.6 m, (C) 0.1-10 pts.mass of a surfactant, preferably a nonionic surfactant or an anionic surfactant, and (D) 0.01-10 pts.mass of a polymerization initiator.
