PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device that can detect a grasping state while making surrounding people including a user not aware of it.SOLUTION: A detection device (2) comprises a piezoelectric element (10) that generates the ultrasound propagating through a cabinet (1) which can be grasped by a user, and a grasp detection unit (20) that detects whether the user grasps the cabinet from an attenuation factor of a reflection wave of the incident wave generating from the piezoelectric element and entering the cabinet.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
