Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent toner scattering from being caused by using a destaticizing member in a place where the magnetic force of a developer carrier does not exist or is weak.
CONSTITUTION: The width L1 of a stably magnetized area 40a on the surface of a developing roller 40 stably magnetized by optimally strong magnetic force and the width L2 of the brush material 45a of a destaticizing brush 45 are set to meet L2<L1. The destaticizing brush 45 is disposed so that both ends in the longitudinal direction of the brush material 45a may be inside from both ends of the area 40a. The brush material 45a is prevented from coming in contact with toner T adhering to a toner unstably holding area 40b on the outside from the area 40a, and the toner T is prevented from being scraped from the surface of the roller 40 by the brush material 45a. Thus, failure such as the staining of an image, the soil of transfer paper and the contamination of the inside of a copying machine is prevented from occurring.
