PURPOSE: To form a stable toner thin layer on a developign roller by providing a posture holding means keeping the posture of a toner thin-layering member constant.
CONSTITUTION: The top end part of the toner thin-layering member 5 is formed so that a toner entering angle formed by the contact line of the toner thin- layering member 5 and a toner grain and the contact line of a developer carrier and the toner grain, is made constant, even if the top end part of the toner thin-layering member 5 is worn and displaced, and further, the posture holding means keeping the posture of the toenr thin-layering member 5 constant, is provided. Therefore, even if the top end part of the toner thin-layering member 5 is worn, the toner entering angle is constant, and a toner thin layer formed on the developer carrier is in a stable state. Consequently, assembling work is facilitated and further, even in long period use, and even if the developing roller 4 is composed of a soft elastic body and used in a high temp. environment, a stable toner thin layer can be formed on the developing roller 4.
