PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the entire length of a joining equipment, to smoothly change over the pass of a rolled stock from a horizontal pass line to a pass line higher than the horizontal pass line (the height of pressure welding on a flying joining device) and simultaneously to contract the clearance between rolled stocks.
SOLUTION: This device is provided with plural supporting rollers and a driving device for moving the rollers vertically, back and forth. (A) When the flying joining device is not used, each supporting roller is horizontally arranged with a certain interval and rolled stocks 1, 2 which are horizontally fed on a transporting table are threaded as it is. (B) When the flying joining device is used and at the time of passage of the tip part of the succeeding material, after making each supporting roller successively higher from the upstream side to the downstream side and successively situating it on the downstream side, the tip of the succeeding rolled stock is fed into the flying joining device 10 and, after that, the roller is returned to the position before the rolled stock passes through the flying joining device.
