CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling and storing key includes a plurality of key storing boxes, a card reader 14, a ten-key 16, an indicating lamp 18, a speaker 22, an unlocking and locking device 24 of key storing box, an unlocking and locking device 26, an operational processing device 32, a storing device 34, and an interface circuit 36. Data of individual keys which can be used by a person carrying a card and common keys are stored in the storing device 34. On receipt of the data of identification codes stored in the cards which have been read by the card reader 14, the device 32 unlocks all key storing boxes which can be used according to said identification codes at one time based on the data stored in the device 34.
