PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a problem that data are lost and a file is still opened by issuing an alarm before the end of system operating at the time of overheat.
CONSTITUTION: This device for detecting overheat inside a disk drive chamber is provided with temperature detecting means 50 and 52 for detecting the temperature inside the drive chamber and generating 1st signals TEMP1 and TEMP2, a comparing means 102 for receiving these 1st signals TEMP1 and TEMP2, discriminating whether the temperature inside the drive chamber is higher than the 1st critical temperature or not and generating a 2nd signal 50DGRS showing the result, an alarm 36 for external display, a means 106 for receiving this 2nd signal and generating an interruption signal BOXFLT and means 108, 120, 122, 130 and 132 for receiving this interruption signal BOXFLT, triggering this alarm 36 at the time of overheat state and communicating an overheat status to an arithmetic system.
