To provide a device which houses an optical fiber in a process with low accuracy and then provides accurate positions of a space and an angle for the array of the optical fiber.
In a device including a plate arrangement having at least two mutually parallel plates and a method for manufacturing the device, a plurality of apertures are formed in each parallel plate, and the plurality of apertures formed in the plate provide the plurality of adjustable-size apertures which is movable between a first and second shapes. The aperture of each plate is aligned in the first shape, and the adjustable-size apertures have a size suitable for housing a bare optical fiber therein. The apertures of the plate is aligned in the second shape, and as a result, the adjustable-size apertures have a size suitable for fixing the housed bare optical fiber.
