To provide a device for measuring shaft torque and action force between a road surface and a tire for accurately measuring the shaft torque acting on a drive shaft, and for contributing to the weight reduction of the drive shaft and estimating action force between the road surface and the tire.
A device for measuring the shaft torque and the action force between the road surface and the tire is provided with: a shaft torque operating means 6, a braking force operating means 9 and an action force operating means 10 for estimating the action force between a road surface and a tire. First and second sensor targets 1 and 2 are mounted on the external races of equal speed joints at the both ends of the drive shaft. First and second sensors 3 and 4 for outputting rotary pulse signals are installed so as to face those sensor targets 1 and 2. The shaft torque operating means 6 calculates the shaft torque by performing arithmetic processing of the phase difference of the rotary pulse signals corresponding to torsion produced in the drive shaft 11 from the rotary pulse signals detected by the sensors 3 and 4. The action force operating means 10 estimates the action force between the road surface and the tire from the braking force of a brake and the shaft torque calculated by the shaft torque operating means 6.
