Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of coefficient data by half and to reduce scale of hardware by positioning two pieces of HD(high definition) data for the prediction of SD(standard definition) data at horizontal mirror image relation and substituting the coefficient data to be multiplied by the SD data in axial symmetry and performing a product-sum operation.
SOLUTION: The SD data is supplied to a product sum computing element 4 and/or 6 from a multiplicand register 3. A class code 'class' is generated at an address control circuit 1 based on the SD data and the coefficient data is read out of coefficient memory 2 by responding to the 'class'. The read coefficient data is supplied to a product sum computing element 4 and/or a coefficient switching circuit 6. The coefficient data corresponding to the SD datum at mirror image relationship is substituted and supplied to a product sum computing element 7. The product-sum operation is executed at the product sum computing element 4 and/or 7 and the calculated results are outputted form output terminals 5 and 8.
