Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is a possibility that an abnormal state can not be detected because a shower, etc., can not be distinguished from the movement of a person taking a shower due to detecting an abnormal state with a very rough image for privacy protection in a conventional manner.
SOLUTION: This device is provided with a YC separating means 92 for extracting image characteristics such as a luminance signal and a color- difference signal from an image in a room picked up by a CCD 8, a microcomputer 94 detecting the temporal change of the image characteristics extracted by the means 92 and an internal timer 94a in the microcomputer clocking an elapsed time after the temporal change detected by the microcomputer 94 disappears, and the microcomputer 94 decides the situation as an abnormal state when the timer 94a clocks the elapsed time equal to or longer than a prescribed time.
