Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an optical fiber splicing device where the surface of the leading edge of an optical fiber is not chipped even in the case of connection through a connector that the optical fiber is inserted and pulled out several times, whose structure is simple and where the aligning accuracy of the optical fiber is high.
CONSTITUTION: This device is constituted of an adpater 10 where a microferrule 15 having an inside diameter equal to the outside diameter of the optical fiber 2a is arranged and fixed, and a plug 1 where the optical fiber 2a is arranged and fixed; and it is constituted so as to connect the optical fibers 2a in the microferrule 15 by providing a leaf spring 17 in the adapter 10, forming a recessed part 5 at a position where the leaf spring 17 is fitted on the plug 1 and fitting the leaf spring 17 of the adpater 10 in the recessed part 5 of the plug 1 in the case of fitting the plug 1 with the adapter 10.
