This opening device equipped with spinning needles (round needles), used for recycling used nonwoven fabrics, cut nonwoven fabric residues or nonwoven fabrics having been scrapped in production processes or in processing processes. Thereby, the minimum effective length of 3 mm required for producing a nonwoven fabric can be ensured. When the nonwoven fabric is opened, a rotary drum equipped with spinning needles (round needles) and an auxiliary plate equipped with spinning needles (round needles) are used. Therein, the position of the auxiliary plate equipped with spinning needles (round needles) can be adjusted. Thereby, the space between the rotary drum and the auxiliary plate can be changed to improve the opening rate.
