Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric barrier discharge lamp that can prevent getters, arranged in the getter housing chamber from adhering by vaporizing and scattering to the inner wall of the discharge container, that forms the light extracting part, and also can prevent lowering of the ultraviolet-ray output.
SOLUTION: The dielectric barrier discharge lamp comprises a discharge container (1), which has an approximately cylindrical shape by arranging the outer tube (12) and the inner tube (11) coaxially and of which at least a part works as a dielectric of the dielectric barrier discharge, a discharge gas which is filled in the discharge space (13), that forms the main region out of a closed space formed between the inner tube (11) and the outer tube (12) and forms excimer molecules by dielectric barrier discharge, a pair of electrodes (14, 15) that are arranged on the outside face of this discharge container (1), and a getter-housing chamber (16) that is formed on at least one end of this closed space. A ring-shape separating plate (20), having small holes 21, 22, is installed as a partition wall between the discharge space (13) and the getter-housing chamber (16).
