To provide a direct printing adapter which inputs video signals or digital image signals and directly outputs images of high quality to a printer.
In a video mode, video signals of video devices 4 and 5 are separated to a color difference signal and a synchronization signal by a video signal processing part 10. The color difference signal is digitized by a signal conversion part 15. The switch for a data transfer direction switching part 30 is changed over by control of an input/output control part 60 and image data for 1 frame are transferred to a memory 52. In a digital camera mode, image data from a digital camera 2 are taken in to the memory 52. When displaying, the switch of the data transfer direction switching part 30 is changed over, and image data from the memory 52 are transferred to a video signal decoding part 40. Then the data are combined as a video output signal and displayed. At printing, image data in the memory are sent to a printer 7 by a data processing part 50, as color printing data.
