To provide a discharge lamp for dielectrically-prevented discharging which has new and advantageous electrode form.
The discharge lamp comprises a discharge vessel that limits a discharge volume part and a plurality of strip-like electrodes. The strip-like electrodes are at least partially separated from the discharge volume part with a dielectric layer, forming dielectrically-prevented discharging. At least a part of the strip-like electrodes comprises a discharge electrode part which is closest to an adjoining electrode, with the discharge electrode part individually causes discharge. The discharge electrode parts extend toward the adjoining part of the electrode strip in the direction returning from the closest discharge electrode part of other electrode strip.
