Abstract:

To facilitate disk loading/unloading, and to surely hold a disk.

This device is provided with a disk holding mechanism 8 for holding/releasing a disk 2 on a turntable 3, and a single power transmission member 7 for causing the disk holding mechanism 8 to hold/release the disk following the movement of a pickup 5 in order to load/unload the disk. When the pickup 5 is moved to the center side of the disk 2, the power transmission member 7 causes the disk holding mechanism 8 to hold the disk 2, and then it is retreated from a path so as to prevent its interference with the movement of the pickup 5. Also, a spring is hooked in each of plural movable projecting members for holding/releasing the disk 2, and the disk 2 is held on the turntable 3 by a sufficient holding force.
