Abstract:
To reduce visibility of a display in ambient light outside of an intended field of view.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a display 100 including a switchable backlight 110 which uses a front surface film 120 to reduce visibility of the display outside an intended viewing area 112 in ambient light. The switchable backlight 110 has two different output modes having different viewing cones 112 and 114 to limit visibility to different angular ranges.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
