PURPOSE: To improve the life by connect the stepped part on the peripheral part of a face glass to a glass bulb by use of flit glass, and carrying a current to an anode electrode by use of a contact piece fixed to the metal back of a phosphor screen with a conductive adhesive.
CONSTITUTION: A face glass 2A has a convex lens part 2a formed on the front surface, a stepped part 2b on the peripheral part, and a recessed part 2d on the circumferential part of the inner surface 2c. A phosphor screen 5A formed by print application of a white phosphor and a metal back film 6 by evaporation are successively laminated and formed on the inner surface 2c. One opening end of a glass bulb 1 about 50mm in length, for example, is sealed and connected to the stepped part 2b by use of a low melting point flit glass. One end side of an elastic contact piece 9 consisting of a stainless thin plate is adhered and fixed into the recessed part 2d with a conductive adhesive 10 consisting of silver and flit glass, and the other end is extended in the inner wall direction and brought into contact with an anode electrode body structure 25A fixed to a stem glass 21 through an anode lead 26.
