Title:
DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICE FOR GOLF COMPETITION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10137383
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To precisely display the residual distance to a pin in a shot in the middle of a hoe, and facilitate the selection of a club for the following shot by calculating the residual distance of the hole on the basis of the position information of an inputted driven ball and the scale of a map, and performing a control display by a display means.

In order to store the putter data of a map in a distance display device 10, a distance measuring device 10 is connected to an external memory device 25 or a personal computer 26 through an interface 24 in the receipt counter 29 of a golf course facility. When a CPU 20 judges the connection with an external equipment, the map pattern data is read from the external equipment, and stored in a prescribed area of a PROM 23. The map pattern data is a pattern data in which all holes of a golf course is generated with a scale of a set ratio, and displayed as a map shown in a display part 11. Thus, when two points are designated, the distance between the two positions can be calculated on the basis of the scale.
