Title:
DISTRIBUTION TYPE FUEL INJECTION PUMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3314650
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibrations and sounds produced by a fuel injection pump by improving the rigidity of the belly part of a pump housing by forming in the pump housing a rib of a predetermined length along the axis of a drive shaft in the direction parallel to both ends of a timer piston.
SOLUTION: In a distribution type fuel injection pump, when fuel is sent, a distribution roller rotates and goes on the peak of a cam ring to move a plunger in a bore cylinder to the center in the radial direction, whereby the fuel in a compression room is pressurized. At this time, a compressive force is applied to the cam ring to collide the cam ring with a pump housing, whereby sounds are produced. Since vibrations produced in the belly part of the pump housing 10 by such a collision is big on the axis of a drive shaft, a rib 100 having a length of the belly part is formed along the axis of the shaft at the belly part of the pump housing 10 in the direction parallel to both ends of a timer piston 9 to thereby reduce the vibrations.
