PURPOSE: To reduce the time for assembly work of an upper frame and to attain improvement in safety by assembling the upper frame in such a manner that a crown supporting frame is arranged on an upright and a dividing crown is arranged on top of it.

CONSTITUTION: On beds 21, 22 that are provided side by side to support a lower die, three left and right pairs of the uprights 31RL-33RL are provided and the upper frame 40 is supported on them. The upper frame 40 is constituted of two left and right pairs of crown supporting frames 41RL-42RL, which are divided at the position corresponding to the upright 32RL and bridged between the uprights 31R-33R and between the uprights 31L-33L in the direction of a press line P, and a plural number of crowns 61-64 each with a built-in slide driving device that is bridged in the shape of parallel crosses between the left and right crown supporting frames 41RL, 42RL. Thus, this structure facilitates to transport a large press frame by dividing it in a plural number of blocks, and also the assembly work is carried out safely and in a short time.
