At the time of using an automatic distributing function, a user selects a distribution destination automatic selection folder 104 as distribution destination, and inputs an original document(whose predetermined area is applied with distribution destination folder information) from a scanner 20. The inputted document image file is temporarily stored through a distribution processing part 102 in the distribution destination automatic selection folder. The distribution destination folder applied to stored images is transmitted through an OCR processing part 105 and recognized as text data.The image data file is retransmitted to a distribution processing part with the recognition result as the distribution destination and redistributed to a distribution destination folder 103. Also, this system is provided with a procedure for executing automatic distribution suitable for the case that the scanner 20 is operated in the continuous reading mode of a plurality of originals.
