To provide a door lock device for a vehicle which can lessen the operating force of a door handle by reducing frictional resistance without any increase in cost and prevent rubbing noise of an edge.
This door lock device for a vehicle is so constructed that a rotatable operating lever 25 connected to a door handle and a rotatable lock release lever 18 connected to a door lock mechanism 5 are respectively disposed to abut to each other, whereby when the operating lever 25 is turned with the open operation of the door handle, it abuts to the lock release lever 18 to turn the lock release lever 18, thereby releasing locking of the door lock mechanism 5. In the door lock device for a vehicle, circular-arc contact surfaces 27a, 21a are formed on the respective contact parts 27, 21 of the operating lever 25 and the lock release lever 18.
