Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the long-time recording of the multimedia information.
SOLUTION: A dot code that is recorded on a recording medium such as paper, etc., and can be optically read consists of plural square blocks 304 which are arranged so as to be adjacent to each other. Every block 304 consists of a non-modulation area including the markers 310 which recognize the blocks 304 and a data area 314, i.e., a modulation area including a data pattern consisting of plural arrayed dots 316 corresponding to the value of each bit of the data which are modulated to be structurally discriminated from the markers 310. Then the non-modulation area also includes the block address patterns 306 which shows the block addresses.
