To provide a pulse tube refrigerator of satisfactory refrigeration efficiency, capable of restraining a secondary flow from being generated.
This pulse tube refrigerator is a compressor having a cold storage tube, a pulse tube, and a high-pressure supply side and a low-pressure recovery side for a refrigerant, wherein the high-pressure supply side is connected to a high-temperature end of the cold storage tube, via a refrigerant supply passage provided with the first opening and closing valve, and wherein the low-pressure recovery side is connected to a high-temperature end of the cold storage tube, via a refrigerant supply passage provided with the second opening and closing valve, and a buffer tank connected to a bypass pipe having a double inlet valve and for connecting a high-temperature end of the pulse tube to the high-temperature end of the cold storage tube, via the first pipe having a flow channel resistance member in the high-temperature end of the pulse tube. The pulse tube refrigerator includes the second pipe having the third opening and closing valve, the second pipe is installed between the compressor and the buffer tank or the first pipe, and the third opening and closing valve is opened and closed in response to an opening and closing state of the first opening and closing valve.
