Abstract:
To attain further positive starting of an engine by more positively securing electric power required in starting the engine when it is cold.
In motoring to start the engine 22 by a motor MG1 when a battery temperature Tb is a threshold value Tbref or lower (S110-S130), a DC/DC converter 56 is not driven (S150). Electric power required in motoring to start the engine 22 can thereby be secured more positively compared with a device that drives the DC/DC converter 56. As a result, the engine 22 can be more positively started when it is cold.
