Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the best contrast in the case of multi-line driving of liquid crystal by selecting plural scanning lines for each of plural field period constituting a unit frame period and providing the liquid crystal with the period when the voltage is impressed, for each field period.
SOLUTION: A display control circuit 260 supplies a row address to a control circuit 218 for a field display period to read display data needed for the multi- line driving out of a RAM 220 and display them on a liquid crystal panel 400. For a blank period, on the other hand, a display OFF signal is supplied to a multi-line decoder 226. Whose output is fixed to fix all the data lines of the liquid crystal panel 400 at a reference voltage. At this point, a control signal which fixes a scanning-line driving voltage is inputted to an X driver 300 to fix all the scanning lines of the liquid crystal panel 400 at the reference voltage as well. This operation is performed for each field and when a field counter 270 detects a field count signal four times, one frame is ended.
