Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase contrast and to eliminate an irregularity in image density by driving an optical shutter so that the intensity of transmitted light from the optical shutter becomes stable. CONSTITUTION:When the optical shutter 1 is driven, the optical shutter 1 is applied with a half-wavelength DC voltage or pulse voltage Vlambda/2 as a stabilizing voltage V1 to stabilize the transmitted light intensity of the optical shutter 1. Then a fluorescent lamp 11 is turned on by a controller 18 and a driving circuit 14 applies a half-wavelength pulse voltage Vlambda/2 to the optical shutter 1 as a driving voltage V2 to drive the optical shutter 1. Consequently, the contrast is improved and the image density irregularity is eliminated without decreasing a system speed.
