Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving support device which allows driving support control for avoiding collision to be improved by making a determination using a road environment.SOLUTION: On the basis of the possibility of collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian or a bicycle which is determined from a relative position and a relative speed, a driving support device performs driving support control for avoiding collision. The driving support device comprises: a determination unit which, when the traveling direction of the vehicle and the moving direction of the pedestrian or the bicycle intersect with each other, determines whether or not there is a crosswalk in the moving direction of the pedestrian or the bicycle; and a control unit which, when it is determined by the determination unit that there is the crosswalk, facilitates the operation of the driving support control as compared to when it is determined that there is no crosswalk.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
