Several rounds of annular outer-tub-side projections 43 on the inner surface of the bottom of a water tub 3a and annular rotary-drum-side projections 32 on the outer surface of the bottom of the rotary drum 2 are alternately disposed. At least one round of the several rounds of the outer-tub-side projections 43 or rotary-drum-side projections 32 are expandably and shrinkably configured according to the temperature change in the inside of the projections by constituting with a shape-memory alloy 41, and are deformed in a drying step. In the drying step, a labyrinth-shaped gap can be narrowed with the heat of hot air, so that leakage of hot air from the labyrinth can be prevented. As a result, the drying efficiency can be improved, the drying time can be reduced, and the power consumption can be reduced.
