Title:
RICE COOKER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011087615
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a rice cooker reducing the rice boiling time without impairing the taste of the rice.

The rice cooker includes storing means 15, water-supply heating means 19, and water feeding means 17. Water stored in the storing means 15 is fed by the water feeding means 17 into a pot 2 at the timing when the amount of water detected by a water amount detecting means 7 for detecting the water amount inside the pot 2 is such that the surface of the rice inside the pot 2 is exposed from water to facilitate water absorption in the rice by increasing the difference in the osmotic pressures inside/outside of rice grains, and as a result, water can be sufficiently absorbed in the rice in a "boiling step" even if a "water absorbing step" is omitted or shortened. In this way, the rice boiling time can be reduced without impairing the taste of the rice.
